For the last 4 months, I’ve been posting a new video every week on my YouTube Channel with some Job Search Tactics and Motivation to help job seekers. Since some people would rather read than watch, I thought I should start sharing the content of the videos here in my blog as well.
This was the first video of the series, How to Eliminate Exhaustion. If you would like to watch the video, here’s a quick link to it. In this quick blog I want to show you how you can get more done AND not be so exhausted at the end of the day.
Do you ever feel by the end of the day, like at only 6pm or 7 o’clock at night, you’re just completely worn out and ready to go to bed? It’s because you need a plan for the day!
The exhaustion comes from all of those little moments throughout the day when you don’t know what you’re supposed to do next.
What’s next on your schedule? “Well, I need to send a resume to that one company, but I need to sign up for that webinar, oh and Erin asked me to call her back, but there was that job fair I need to prepare for…” and on and on and on.
In all those little moments of indecision, your body, at a physical level goes into a defensive panic mode. Your brain is sending messages to your neurons and muscles to fire defensively to help you get back in control so you know what you’re supposed to do next. Even if it’s just for a few seconds at a time, and consciously the change is hardly noticeable, your body goes into extreme stress mode because your brain is uncertain.
However, if you had the plan for the day and had no question about what to do next, you would eliminate all of those little moments of indecision and thereby effectively eliminate the exhaustion you feel at the end of the day.
After you do this for multiple days consecutively, you’ll be surprised how much better you sleep at night, how much better you feel during the day, and most importantly, how much more you get done every day because you have a plan. Give this a try, start today.
If you need help with a plan, there are lots of great books on the subject that you can find, and SpeedUpMyJobSearch.com has one for you as well. We will actually hand you a full planner that allows you to put in how many hours you have available to work on your job search for the week and it will plan your entire week for you, hour by hour, every day, telling you when to do what. And we have a member forum so you can talk about it with other members, and with me directly, so we can help you though it.
Regardless of what you do, whether you buy a book from Amazon, or a membership in SpeedUpMyJobSearch.com, or you try to just figure it out yourself, whatever you do, you need to do something. Find a plan and get to work.
If this was helpful for you, I invite you to Like/Share it so more people can find it to get the help they need. Also, if you subscribe to our free youtube channel you’ll get more tips like these as they come out.
In the meantime, try making a plan for today, it will help you. Job search doesn’t have to be so exhausting. You can do this. It’s time to get to work.
